FERNANDO SALADO AND JUAN OTERO PRESENT NEXT FRIDAY IN CATOIRA THE BOOK “PAPEL DE ESTRAZA”
On Friday, June 3, at 9:00 p.m., the book “Papel de estraza” will be presented in the Celso Emilio room of the Catoira Multipurpose Building, a joint work by the journalist Fernando Salado and the multifaceted Juan Otero from Arousa.
As can be deduced from the title of the work, alluding to the support on which the names of the components of that utopian government of the Illa de Arousa were written down, the book has as its central axis what happened in the town of Arousa in October 1934; These events are approached by the authors making their a basic premise of the historian: to bring the context closer.
Based on the story of how technological advances reach the island and how canners use them in factories, while sailors and canning workers live in poverty, “Papel de straza” offers them a panorama of society local, its places of entertainment, the parties, the first union organizations, etc.
