The “Follow the Vikings” roadshow is a modern representation of the poet and warrior Egill Skallagrímsson, taking into account his life and epoch. It combines his narrative with the Viking myth in order to highlight the main aspects of this culture. This is a powerful audiovisual show, which combines theater, music and dance.

This roadshow falls within a project of the Creative Europe Programme, funded by the European Union, in order to make the international Viking heritage more accessible and visible for the general audience. Catoira is a partner of this before mentioned project.

This project will enhance the local economy and it will also contribute to the establishment of a wide and enduring network between the cultural partners involved in the conservation, presentation and the marketing of the Viking legacy. The project has a duration of 4 years, from 2015 to 2019.

The artistic director, Craig Morrison, counts on the collaboration of the Municipal Theatre School “Úrsula” of Catoira, as well as on artist from different parts of Europe.

TICKETS: 2 euros (advanced sales at the Municipal Public Library until 1 August, and ticket office at the entrance of the Torres de Oeste venue during the days of the show) until filled to capacity.

Recommended age: older than 12 years.

The celebration of this event does not depend on the climate conditions. For this reason it is recommended to wear appropriate clothes. The Council of Catoira therefore reserves the right to cancel the event in case of extreme weather conditions, for security reasons.

Smoking is not allowed during the show.

This event is cofunded by the Council of Catoira, Follow the Vikings, the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, Turismo de Galicia (Galician Tourism Agency) and the Provincial Deputation of Pontevedra.
